Safety considerations

Generally well tolerated with no side effects reported at assessment time; monograph conclusions limit traditional use to adults over 18 and to not longer than two weeks without medical advice. Possibly safe for up to 12 weeks; side effects may include dizziness, headache, insomnia, and either dry mouth or excessive saliva; an interaction between rhodiola and losartan has been reported; little is known about pregnancy or breastfeeding safety.
