Cymbopogon citratus (DC.) Stapf, Poaceae, above-ground parts, recorded in the European legacy register as Cymbopoginis citrati herba, with the essential oil recorded separately as Cymbopoginis citrati aetheroleum.
Forms and distinctions
The herb and the essential oil are separate preparations, and West Indian lemongrass must be distinguished from citronella, Cymbopogon nardus, and from East Indian lemongrass, Cymbopogon flexuosus, which are related but separately assessed materials.
